Home Learning Resources From 1st June 2020
From 1st of June our home learning is going to be different because the schools are slowly starting to re open. It will comprise of the activities below:
Daily online lessons from the Oak National Academy www.thenational.academy
Instructions: Enter the classroom, click on schedule and choose the correct year group, choose the correct day of the week and click on each lesson to begin.
Daily learning activities on BBC Bitesize https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/dailylessons
Instructions: Click onto the correct age group and choose a lesson to begin.
Weekly lesson packs from Kirklees Education https://sites.google.com/kirkleeseducation.uk/covid-home-learning/home
Instructions: Click on year group and download work pack to print.
Daily phonics lessons from Letters and Sounds https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCP_FbjYUP_UtldV2K_-niWw
Instructions: Choose reception or year 1 lessons on the youtube channel and work through a lesson each day.
Due to increased commitments to the pupils in school and preparing for the increase of pupils into school I will not be continuing with the weekly timetables, please access the above learning instead. There are also the tabs below with links to other online learning, general resources and physical activities, as well as, Mathletics, Nessy and Readiwriter.
It would be great to continue to see what you are up to at home, so please keep in touch via class dojo, just being mindful that I am back in school with pupils and may not be able to respond as swiftly. I will still upload certificates like I would in 'celebration assembly' each week.
I have one or two children in my class studying for a DREAM award! It would be great if you could come back to achieve one of these. You can find the link to them below. I have also attached other home learning activities. You don't need to print these, you can use 'mark up' on your device and write on them electronically. Alternatively, you can open it up on screen and then write the answers into your orange book. If you do want to print then you can just print the pages you need or speak with Mrs Dean for assistance.
You will still be awarded DOJO points for the work that you have completed and watch out in the post this coming week for a flat Mrs Dean arriving to have a look at what you have been up to.
Please keep up with your reading at home you have been doing so well recently!
I hope to see all your faces really soon!
I miss you all! Stay safe and take care everyone,
Mrs Dean

Question: What is a holiday?
Listen, think, share
A holiday is a break from school or work. We are all different so what we do and where we go on holiday is different. It is important to find time to relax and enjoy ourselves wherever that may be! |
Activity 1
When we go on holiday, we often pack a suitcase with the things we need.
Activity 2:
Explain that if you travel on an aeroplane to another country, your suitcase has to be a certain size and a certain weight so they can fit it on. The length of the suitcase is usually measured in centimetres and the weight is usually measured in kilograms. British Airways have a maximum suitcase length of 90cm.

- What might you need to pack when you go on holiday?
- Are you going somewhere hot or cold?
- What will you need to take in your wash bag?
- Do you have anything special you need to pack e.g. a toy or a teddy?
- If you could only take one item on holiday with you, what would it be?

- Can you find anything in your classroom or at home that is about 90cm?
- Measure the length of a bag or suitcase, would you be allowed to take it on the aeroplane?
