I originally became a Governor in 2012 when my children were in secondary school and that experience led me to pursue a career in Governance Services. Since that time, I have worked across three Local Authorities as a Governor Services Officer and I now lead a School Governor Services team supporting the Governing Boards of schools and academies in addition to leading Governor training. Prior to this, I spent 20 years working within the construction and trade industry both in the UK and overseas in New Zealand, which included co-owning a tile retail & installation business; I also volunteered within my children's primary schools. All these roles I feel have provided me with not only the business and financial skills to support our schools inthe Federation but my experience working within Education across different Local Authorities has provided a strong knowledge of the challenges and opportunities within this area.

I am passionate about the role of Governance and the value of the strategic leadership it provides to our schools. While I do not live in the Rawcliffe area, I grew up close by in a rural area on the border of North Lincolnshire and understand the challenges our children face. Our role as a Governor is to support our schools to develop educational opportunities for our children and young people which allow them to flourish and be our communities of tomorrow and I am looking forward to being part of this journey for the Rawcliffe Federation.
