Our Vision for Early Years
In the Early Years at Rawcliffe Bridge Primary School our children re happy. They are excited and motivated to learn through rich and challenging learning experiences; opportunities to explore and take risks and first-hand experiences.
We have high ambitions for all our children and recognise that children have different starting points to their learning. We plan according to children's stage of development so all can thrive and develop.
We aim for children to be well-rounded individuals who are independent, resilient and confident in themselves and with others.

Remembrance Day
The children did us all proud this week in Church. They learnt their poem and made lots of things to remember the fallen. The children also learnt why we celebrate the 11th of November. We watched a heart-warming video to help start our learning on Remembrance Day.
Remember, Remember the 5th of November
In the morning our children enjoyed making our Guy. We made him using lots of newspaper. We had great fun scrunching the paper up!! The children then enjoyed going down to Rawcliffe to see which Guy/material would burn the quickest. The Guys ranged from paper, leaves, twigs, hay, fruit and vegetable and clothing. We were very excited to find out that ours burnt the quickest!!
Our Phonics learning
In phonics we have looked at the Jolly phonics songs and actions to help us remember our letters. We are getting very good at remembering the actions and the songs.
There is also a link to help parents/carers with how to say the initial letter sounds correctly to help with your child's learning.

Developing the grounds
This Easter, and during the Summer Term, we are working hard to develop both the indoor and outdoor learning environments. Keep checking for updates on how we are getting on.
A huge thank-you to Mr Towers and Mr Churchill who have been busy building lots of new learning zones for us and to Cepac who have donated many of the pallets.
