Phonics and Reading

Record your Phonics work in your lined book. If you would like you can upload videos of you reading or playing the games onto Class Dojo.

Real or nonsense words: Write down each word. Put a tick next to the real words and a cross next to the nonsense words. sniff vrown stell smell pliff groan floam brown |
Look through your reading books and see if you can spot the tricky words anywhere? Use have, like, some, come to write your own sentences. Remember your capital letters, fingers spaces and full stops. |
Read: Chomp the sweets and crush them up. Sniff the sweet jar. Yum! Scoop the sweets into a bag. |
Read: It smells like we might have some roast chicken tonight. Can we train a dragon to come and cook some food for us? Will you come and have some roast bugs on toast for dinner? |
Reading Comprehension: The below texts increase in difficulty. You can work your way through them or choose which one best suits your reading ability.
