January 2020 Covid-19- School Lockdown update
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Thank you for your patience and support during this difficult time of uncertainty and worry. None of us would have expected to be in this position again after such a short time. We completely understand that this is a difficult time for you all, and we will do all that we can do to help within the realms of current guidance.
As a school community, we all need to do what we can to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Please seek advice from the government website for the most recent information regarding testing and isolation. Please do not bring your children into school if they are showing any symptoms of Covid-19. The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of COVID-19 is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. That is why the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.
It is important to underline that schools, colleges and other educational establishments remain safe places for children. But the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society. We will be continuing with our school risk assessment to keep the children safe, a copy of this can be found under the parent section of the website.
Staff will be in school every day checking emails, which is our preferred method of contact during this lockdown. Should your circumstances as a key worker change (for example, MOD who are called to work, NHS staff who are asked to help with patients etc) requiring you to need care for your child please contact the school office.
The children that are currently in school will be working alongside the online platform provided to the children that are working from home. Your child’s class teacher will be in touch with you shortly with regards to any home learning and virtual sessions that will take place, in addition to this Miss Knight and Mrs Littlewood-Wright will be in contact with any families with additional needs. Please see below an overview of our remote learning expectations, more information will follow:
