Organising our Curriculum

We have organised our curriculum content to match the unique mixed age class contexts we have in both our schools in the Federation. Within this, we ensure that all essential learning as outlined for the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum are fully covered as the children move through each phase of school. We adapt how we deliver and implement this learning depending on the subject content and needs of each class. Some subject content and learning is tailored so that it can be taught to a mixed age class, with teachers making skilful adaptions to ensure all children in any year group within the classes are both supported and challenged to reach age related expectations. This includes adaptations for our pupils with SEND. For other subject content, we teach this in specific year groupings as we feel this focused input and implementation is effective in supporting the pupils to achieve the desired outcomes.

At the bottom of the page, you can see some of the ways we have organised our Curriculum Content in each of our schools, and for each phase of learning.

Across the year class teachers will upload Curriculum Newsletters and Organisers onto your child's Class Dojo page so that you can see what they will be learning. This will be an overview of the knowledge and skills they will be working on in that half term across all subjects.  These can also be found under the Class Page tab on the website.
